The Jahangir Pendant is embossed with the image of a lion and a shining sun, surrounded by five green onyx stones.
The combined symbols of lion and sun have a rich history within Asian and Middle Eastern countries. When used on a coin it is closely associated with the Jahangir Rupee, which takes its name from the eponymous Emperor of the Mughal Dynasty - the “conqueror of the world”. In Iranian astrology, Jahangir was a Leo, and he felt closely tied to his Astrological sign’s associated with greatness and power.
